Dr. MaryKathrine Ley graduated with her BSN from Samuel Merritt University in 2011 and began her career in the medical field as a Registered Nurse working in the specialty of Hospice and Palliative Care. For 3 years she worked closely with the Veteran population in inpatient hospice at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. She then returned to school to pursue her certification as an Adult/Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Brandman University while working for Collabria Hospice in Napa, CA. Dr. Ley has been certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing since 2013 and is dedicated to providing compassionate care and symptom management in advanced illness and end of life care.
Dr. Ley is happy to be living and working in the community that she grew up in. When she’s not at work she loves spending time with family and friends, traveling, running, staying active and playing ball with her dog Buddy.
Dr. Ley is eager and enthusiastic to continue this chapter of her career as a Nurse Practitioner in Palliative Care, dedicated to quality, patient-centered care. She believes the best way to achieve holistic patient care is to work within a motivated, team-oriented environment among proactive and forward-thinking professionals. She joined Pulmonary Medicine Associates because of its reputation as an organization where evidence-based practice and quality improvement are the standard in day-to-day practice. With continued dedication, hard work and a positive attitude, she believes she can achieve her goals and make a difference in the lives of her patients.
