One thing can be said about Hari Nagaraj, MD – he is a bundle of energy! It’s a good thing because with certifications in internal medicine and four sub-specialties, he is pulled in many directions all the time! He is the Chairman of PMA’s Board of Directors after serving as a Board member for several years. He is also the Chairman of Department of Medicine at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, CA.
Dr. Nagaraj chose to become a doctor because of his passion for helping people who needed medical care. He has a wide range of interests within the profession including Sleep Medicine and Palliative Care as well as Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. He chose these specialties because he wanted the ability to provide care and service to patients during periods of critical illness to help them get better, and to assist other patients and their families at the end of life. Dr. Nagaraj is especially passionate about treating sleep disorders, critical illness and finds performing procedures such as bronchoscopies and procedures in the ICU particularly satisfying. Dr. Nagaraj has been the recipient of an American medical Association Physician Recognition Award and a Physician Award from the Hospice of Northern Kentucky.
Dr. Nagaraj enjoys traveling, music, and playing cricket and tennis during his spare time. He and his wife, who is an Internal medicine physician, have two children. They enjoy living in the area because of the great weather and access to all the nearby activities. Dr. Nagaraj enjoys spending time with his family – most especially playing basketball with his son.
Dr. Nagaraj has stayed at PMA because of the ability to grow and collaborate that the practice as large as PMA offers. His philosophy is to provide compassionate, patient-centered and individualized care.
